Have you ever stopped to think about why flowers exist? I never really had. They simply… exist. But flowers have a purpose beyond their beauty. They allow plants to continue their life cycle. A flower is the reproductive part of a plant, and the beautiful colours and delicate shapes we admire are actually the result of millions of years of evolution, designed to attract pollinators. What I find even more beautiful is the symbolism behind it. A flower is only a brief moment in the life of a plant. It appears, blooms for a while, fulfils its purpose, and eventually fades away, leaving its seeds behind. It is precisely because a flower is temporary that it makes new life possible. Over the past few weeks, I’ve spent a little less time on my art and on sharing it through social media. While the success of my floral collections has brought me many wonderful opportunities, I noticed that it also brought a sense of restlessness. I found myself being drawn to social media more often than I wanted to be. I tried putting my phone away more frequently and using Apple’s built-in app limits, but I still found it difficult to disconnect. A few days ago, I started using Tap Out (not sponsored), and for the first time, it feels like I’m genuinely gaining control over the amount of time I spend online. I realized that I wasn’t fully present in the moment and was carrying a constant sense of mental noise and fatigue. Since stepping back, I’ve started to feel calmer, more focused, and more connected to both my life and my creative process. My hope is to hold on to this sense of peace while continuing to share my work with you. I’ve already started on a new collection, and I’m excited to show it to you very soon. 💛

My atelier is my happy place🌸 Would love to have more time there. But with another job and being a mom the time in my atelier is limited. I enjoy the little time I have to paint, but I dream to have less working hours at my other job so I can spend it at my atelier at home❤️ Everyone supporting me by collecting my art, gets me a little closer to the dream of being an artist full-time🌺

‘A New Memory’ already reveals in its title what this piece is about: the creation of a new memory. Our lives are made up entirely of memories. Everything happening right now has already become part of the past before we even have time to fully reflect on it. I find it difficult to truly live in the present, as my mind is often one or two months ahead. Now that I have a toddler and see how quickly he is growing, it feels even more important to consciously enjoy the present moment. By that, I mean making memories together. The kind of memories that are usually created when you truly spend time together, not while cooking, doing laundry, or vacuuming the house. I painted this work during a particularly busy week, a week in which there was little time to create those meaningful moments. But I still tried my best to make space for them.

By collecting my work, you become part of a dream that I’ve carried with me for many years. Your support makes it possible for me to hopefully work as a full-time artist in the future. Working as an artist from home also gives me more flexibility in my daily life as a mother, allowing me to be there for my family whenever they need me, and whenever I want to be present for the moments that matter most. I truly want to thank you for being here. Your support means more to me than you probably realize.🌸

‘Unfold’ is my favorite painting from this collection. It was the very first piece, and the beginning of a new direction, because unlike many of my earlier works, it isn’t blurred. The painting gave me the feeling that new things were possible. While reorganizing my studio, I felt as though I was starting again with a clean slate. Are you starting something with a clean slate soon?

‘Learning to See Again’ is about learning how to truly look again. Not just glancing at something while passing by, but taking a step closer, shifting your perspective, and allowing yourself a moment to really observe. As adults, we often forget how to look at things objectively and with curiosity. We move quickly, without noticing the small details around us. But every now and then, slowing down and truly paying attention can change the way we experience the world. Unlike many of my softened and blurred works, this piece is intentionally clear and focused. It invites you to pause, to stay present, and to really look. What will you truly look at today?

The third collection goes live today. If you had told me at the beginning of this year how deeply my work would be appreciated, I probably would have looked at you in disbelief, but with a quiet spark of pride in my eyes too. This has always been my dream. I’ve been selling my art since I was a teenager. Back then, I mainly created pencil portraits, and for a long time portraiture felt like the only path I knew. My journey through art school was not always easy. I often struggled to fit into the way things were expected to be done there, and for a while I lost touch with the reason I started creating in the first place. I didn’t paint for more than 2 years after finishing art school. Everything shifted after my exhibition in January at the city museum here in my hometown. It dined work out like I hoped it would. I realized I wanted to approach art differently, more intuitively, more honestly, and closer to myself. With these floral collections, I wanted to return to the essence of creating. To slow down. To find more calm within the fullness of daily life, balancing motherhood, work, and my studio practice. By paying closer attention to the world around me, to the flowers I notice while walking outside, to the small and often overlooked moments, I’ve learned to slow myself down and appreciate life in a softer way. These works became a reflection of that feeling: quiet, present, gentle, and deeply personal. And what means the most to me is that my collectors seem to connect with that feeling too. Knowing that these pieces find a home with people who truly understand and value them is something I will never take for granted. Thank you for the trust, the support, and for following this journey with me. It truly means more than I can put into words.

My heart always starts racing when I begin blurring my paintings. I’ve already put so much effort into painting the flower, and the blurring can so easily go wrong and then all that work would have been for nothing. The painting is so delicate, just like flowers are🌺🌸🌿

Sketching flowers lets me notice all the details of the blooms. It feels different from painting them, because I’m not focused on color and contrast.

Between motherhood, my other job, and everyday life, I find my moments in the studio. It’s a constant shift between all these different “roles.” Sometimes I can’t find the focus and calm needed to paint within just an hour. Other times I paint three canvases in an hour, and sometimes only one. It can be frustrating at times, but most of the time I truly enjoy my quiet moments alone in my attic studio. Today I painted one in that small hour🌿🌸

Adding a totally new color to my collections! Was a bit scared at first to try it, but because of multiple commissions I needed to try it! And I think it works out pretty well, do you? 🌿🌸

Roses are often seen as symbols of love, beauty and emotion. But they are also associated with longing and hope, vulnerability and tenderness, growth and transformation. In this collection about new beginnings, it gives me a bit of them all. But mostly the latter. Because, for me, new beginnings need growth and transformation. To begin again is to allow yourself to change. To leave behind old versions of yourself, while gently growing towards something new. Just like a rose slowly unfolding, growth often happens quietly, almost unnoticed, until one day you realize you have become softer, stronger, and more yourself than before. There is so much to long for, so much to create in the mind, that it becomes easy to lose yourself in it. The future begins to glow brighter than the present, and before you know it, you are floating somewhere between where you are and where you hope to be. This piece is a gentle reflection on that tension. On the beauty of dreaming, but also on the quiet risk of drifting too far. It is an invitation to return and to notice what is already here, already unfolding. To hold your dreams close, without losing sight of the present moment that carries them. A Distant Spring is about longing. A longing you can already feel, but cannot yet hold. A quiet sense of hope for something that is on its way. It exists in that in-between phase. The moment of leaving something behind, but not yet fully stepping into what’s new. This painting reflects my desire to slow down, to feel more softness, and to be more present. Sold❤️

Slow Dreams is about dreaming. Dreaming about the future, about all the beauty that is still to come. But not the quick dreams, those fleeting short-term wishes. It’s about the slow daydreams you have when you’re outside, truly taking in your surroundings, the sky, the birds, the flowers. Finding a sense of calm where your mind can be still. This technique of soft fading invites me to pause. It asks me to really look at what is here, and to notice what is already slipping away. Nothing stays the same. Edges blur, colors dissolve, moments pass. And in that quiet dissolving, I become more aware of the present. It feels like holding something gently, without trying to keep it. Allowing it to exist, just as it is, knowing it will change. There’s a kind of peace in that. In accepting that beauty is often temporary, and that its fleeting nature is exactly what makes it meaningful. Through this process, I’m learning to slow down, to be more present and to find softness in the in-between.

One of my favorites, A Gentle Delay. This piece felt different while I was making it. There was no rush to finish it, no pressure to move fast. I found myself slowing down and taking more time with each layer and each flower. Not because it had to be perfect, but because it felt right to stay in the process a bit longer. Also because of the urge to add the orange tones into the collection, but they are quite difficult to create. ‘A Gentle Delay’ is about that moment of pause, when you don’t push forward immediately, but allow something to take the time it needs. My work is about stillness, memory, and the quiet beauty of nature. I create paintings inspired by flowers, plants and natural shapes. Painting flowers feels like a quiet pause in a full life. Between motherhood, work, and building my life as an artist, it gives me space to slow down and really notice something beautiful. I’m endlessly moved by their fragility. How something so delicate can still feel so alive, so present.

And that last one is something I am so aware of now that I have a little child.🌸

Lately, I’ve been feeling drawn to the more red and pink colors for this collection. But I felt something was missing and I know now I needed to add a few more warm orange tones into this collection. Soft terracotta, warm sunset shades… Just to bring in a little more warmth, depth and glow. I love how color can completely shift the feeling of a painting. And I think these tones are slowly finding their place in this collection 🧡

And actually, it is all related to why I started doing this in the first place, the intention to slow down. I experience more peace during the whole process because I have done it before, and as a result, I have more self-confidence.🌺🌸

While varnishing my paintings, I always take away the tiny hairs that got stuck to the painting (happens while painting?) so that the varnished result is beautifully clear ✨

I don’t have a fancy cool atelier, but I don’t mind. I have a nice room in my house where I can paint and it’s practical to be able to stay at home. Of course I dream big and would looove a big atelier with al the space and light through the windows but everything starts small🌸
